Tofu, with Coconut Aminos, Broccoli & Sesame

Our All-purpose Coconut Aminos are a great way to add an umami flavour to vegetarian dishes.  This tofu dish uses Coconut Aminos as a seasoning to provide a salty, sweet flavour to the tofu.  Coconut Aminos are made from the sap of the coconut tree. The sap is naturally fermented and blended with garlic, coconut nectar, coconut vinegar and salt. It makes a great alternative to soy sauce and is perfect for those that are allergic to soy, or those wanting to reduce their intake of soy products.

The below recipe is a simple way to try Coconut Aminos. Find out where are Coconut Aminos are sourced from and why we love them here.

Serves 2

Ingredients

200g of cubed tofu

100g tenderstem broccoli

20ml of Coconut Aminos All-purpose

Dash of Sesame Oil

2 spring onions, finely shopped

10g toasted sesame seeds

  • Heat a non-stick frying pan to a medium heat using sesame oil. Pan fry the tofu for 3-4 minutes until it starts to turn golden brown.  Remove from the heat once cooked.

  • Chop the broccoli into mouth-sized bites and add to the pan.  Split the stalks so they cook faster. Stir fry for 6-7 minutes until they soften.

  • Finely chop the spring onion and add to the pan, stirring for another 2 minutes.

  • Add the tofu back into the pan and stir in approx. 20ml of Coconut Aminos.

  • Stir well for a few minutes until everything is coated lightly in the Coconut Aminos.  Do not heat too strongly!

  • Serve immediately with jasmine rice and a sprinkling of toasted sesame seeds on top.

Try the above recipe with salmon and our Teriyaki Coconut Aminos, or add in a handful of nuts for a veggie protein option.
